Lucky for us we’re next-door neighbours of many high-end producers of Pineau des Charentes!  It’s very popular in our region and it’s our aperitif of choice. This means freshly emptied casks all year round. It results from assemblage/marrying of about 75% of grape juice and 25% of Cognac, in French oak barrels, with final alcohol content between 16 and 22%.

- White Pineau casks are very versatile and can work as the perfect maturation tool either to complement well a light style spirit or to harmonize/balance with a more robust one bringing sweetness and clear notes of dried figs, nuts and rancio. A deep gold colour can be extracted here.

- Red Pineau brings a deep mahogany colour, notes of berries, mature cherries and well evident rancio.
